Further, Mount Vernon City Council President Roberta Apuzzo calling for the resignation of Mayor Richard Thomas? She asserts Mayor Thomas misinformed the public using social media to express baseless accusations against the City Council and Comptroller Walker. Is there validity to her pronouncement? Sharyn Pirtle, Young at Arts Founder and Artistic Director, having studied voice, opera, and musical theater, had in time travelled a journey of learning and joy from Houston, Texas to the Village of Bronxville. Her journey had her found Young at Arts in response to the gaps in arts education in her community. Young at Arts began with twelve drama students, and now serves over 400 children between 3 different campuses in Westchester County. She has been honored by the Mount Vernon Public Library Foundation for her dedication to the youth of Mount Vernon and the Junior League of Bronxville.
