Saint Barnabas High School Inducts New Members to Honor Societies

THE BRONX, NY — October 5, 2018 — Saint Barnabas High School welcomes new members to the Blanid Stewart Chapter of the National Honor Society. These students were chosen on their ability to demonstrate the four qualifications of the society – scholarship, character, leadership and service. During the ceremony four candles were lighted.

The following students were inducted into the 2018-2019 Blanid Stewart Chapter of the National Honor Society: Briana Broomfield, Britney Broomfield, Yarezly Cabrera, Amanda Chabdeo, Lorena Chacon, Shanelly De Los Santos, Jamie-Lynn Figueroa, Yereimy Francisco Parra, Belen Gonzalez, Simone Gonzalez, Nayeli Liriaro, Lizbet Lucero, Emilee Mahoney, Meghan McConaghy, Annia McLarty, Dominique Mirabile, Sariyah Mojica, Tanyae Palmer, Paula Pllumaj, Yadevi Rajkumar, Fatou Sohna, and Maeghan Torres.

Following the National Honor Society, the Saint Barnabas High School Virginia Woolf Chapter of the National English Honor Society and the Luis Ponce de Leon Chapter of the National Hispanic Honor Society also recognized those new inductees.

Co-Presidents of the 2018-2019 National English Society, Shahine Clarke and Briana Allen, acknowledged the following new inductees: Briana Broomfield, Britney Broomfield, Yarezly Cabrera, Amanda Chabdeo, Shanelly De Los Santos, Belen Gonzalez, Simone Gonzalez, Emilee Mahoney, Dominique Mirabile, Sariyah Mojica, Paula Pllumaj, Yadevi Rajkumar, Fatou Sohna, Maeghan Torres, Ashley Schildwachter, and Reann Williams.

The new inductees accepted their candidacy by signing their names into the roll book and reciting the NEHS pledge.

Karol Jaquez Santiago, President of the 2018-2019 Luis Ponce de Leon Chapter of the National Hispanic Honor Society, acknowledged the following new inductees: Briana Broomfield, Britney Broomfield, Yarezly Cabrera, Shanelly De Los Santos, Belen Gonzalez, Simone Gonzalez, Erika Ejlli, Lizbet Lucero, Nayeli Liriano, Michelle Maza, Dominique Mirabile, Jaime-Lynn Figueroa, Jereimi Fransisco-Parras, Paula Pllumaj, Yadevi Rajkumar, Fatou Sohona, Stephanie Torres, and Katia Valerio. The new inductees completed their candidacy by reciting the NHHS pledge.

“We are very proud of these students and know their futures are bright because of their service, spirit and determination”, stated Saint Barnabas Principal Theresa Napoli.
