CROTON-ON-HUDSON, NY, July 15, 2010 — Joe DioGuardi, candidate for the U.S. Senate, today released the following statement after qualifying for the GOP primary ballot. This afternoon, the candidate and a team of volunteers arrived at the Elections Board, delivering 25,000 plus signatures. Additionally, DioGuardi qualified in more than 20 New York congressional districts.
"Today, the people have spoken. By choosing to put me on the primary ballot, the people have rejected politics as usual. They have rejected the spending of money we don't have. They have rejected the borrowing of money from countries that don't share our values. Instead, the people have embraced the commonsense principles this country was founded on, these principles that will protect the American dream."
During the Republican Party Convention, GOP party bosses blocked Joe DioGuardi from receiving the Party's nomination. However, Joe took the decision to the people of New York. As a result, DioGuardi qualified for the Republican Party primary ballot with the support of 25,000 plus New Yorkers, over 10,000 more than the required 15,000 signatures.
"I want to thank everyone who put a pen to a petition and offered their signature in support of me," continued DioGuardi. "Without the confidence of more than 25,000 individuals, New Yorkers would have been denied a real choice in this primary election and the only opportunity to unite the opposition against Kirsten Gillibrand in November. Now, they will have it."
Joe DioGuardi, a Certified Public Accountant, founder of Truth In Government and author of "Unaccountable Congress: It Doesn't Add Up," is the NY State Conservative Party nominee and Republican Party candidate for the U.S. Senate.
