YPD_patch  YONKERS, NY, July 19, 2010 — On Tuesday July 6, 2010 at approximately 1:09 AM Yonkers Police responded to 77 Locust Hill Ave on the reports of multiple shots fired. Police were directed to a 9th floor Apartment where several people were found to be the victims of gunshot wounds. As ambulance personnel treated and transported victims to local area hospitals, two of the victims were pronounced dead by the Ambulance personnel.     

21 year old Kasheem Little and 23 year old Carlton McLeod both of 77 Locust Hill Ave, were pronounced dead suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. In addition four other individuals were taken to local area hospitals suffering from gunshot wounds. A 5 yr old boy was shot in the arm and listed as in stable condition. A 17 year old female was shot in the chest and leg and is listed as critical but stable. A 33 year male was shot in the shoulder, arm and torso and is listed as in stable condition. Also a 56 year old male was shot in the left arm, lower back/hip area and is currently listed as stable. 

In furtherance of this investigation on Saturday July 17, 2010 the Yonkers Police Department’s Detective Division responded to a location in the Bronx and with the assistance of NYPD’s Bronx Gang Squad took into custody a person of interest in the homicides. Yonkers Detectives transported Daniel Sanchez, a 23 year old male, to the Yonkers Police Detective Division for questioning. Subsequently Daniel Sanchez of 238 8th Street, Brooklyn, NY has been arrested and charged with Murder in the 2nd Degree and Attempted Murder in the 2nd degree.

The Department is still investigating this murder and Detectives are actively looking for other individuals who may have played a part in the crime.

  1. I hope they catch all the rest of the guys. No matter wat the reason be it drugs, money a fight or beef, Nothing justifies taking someones life and injuring so many others. Forget the time they will get they need to pray for mercy on their souls!

  2. He was arraigned today in front of Judge Doran. He was ordered held without bail, and the case is on for Friday at 11AM for a felony hearing. The case is to go to the grand jury on or before the same date.
