ALBANY, NY, August 1, 2010 — NYSERDA would be eliminated if Warren Redlich is elected Governor. The New York State Energy Research and Research Development Authority has a stunning payroll filled with do-nothing job titles.
Redlich listed the number of various common titles in a blog post today: http://wredlich.com/ny/2010/07/nyserda-a-poster-child-for-government-run-amok/.
Of the 284 employees in the agency, more than half (150) are project managers or coordinators. There are also 55 directors, office managers, program managers or office administrators, meaning well over 2/3 of the staff have positions that manage, direct, coordinate or administer. Few employees actually do something.
The average employee on NYSERDA's $19.2 million payroll made $67,621 in 2009."It's outrageous that NY taxpayers are spending all that money for a bunch of do-nothing jobs," Redlich said.
On the bright side, there is one receptionist.
