YPD_patch Yonkers, NY, August 23, 2010 —  On 08-19-10 at approximately 9:29 p.m., 4th Precinct Anti-Crime Police Officers Thomas Marello and Thomas Cleary were working in plainclothes and observed three suspicious males acting disorderly in front of 168 Ridge Avenue.  A male (later identified as Percy Baker) was observed continuously grabbing his right side pants pocket as if he was attempting to hide something.  The officers exited their vehicle to interview the males, who were also blocking pedestrian traffic on the sidewalk.  Suspect Baker began to reach toward his right pants pocket and P.O. Marello subsequently performed a pat down of the suspect.  A loaded .32 caliber handgun was recovered from the suspect’s right pants pocket.  The suspect, a 17 year old black male who reports residing at 398 Somerville Place, was subsequently transported to the City Jail and booked for Criminal Possession of a Weapon 2nd degree.  NO PHOTOGRAPH OF THIS SUSPECT WILL BE RELEASED AT THIS TIME.



On 08-22-10 at approximately 9:32 p.m., a 23 year old city resident reported that he was a victim of a robbery.  The victim related that three Hispanic males approached him from behind as he walked on Caryl Avenue toward South Broadway.  The victim was grabbed and a necklace was forcefully removed from his neck.  3rd Precinct units later stopped three males believed to be involved in the robbery, and they were subsequently transported to the Detective Division.  Officers recovered a necklace when the suspects were taken into custody.  Detective Russell Kilgore investigated the incident and two of the males, identified as brothers, were placed under arrest.  The third male was released after investigation.

Richard Ubiles, 18 year old male Hispanic who reports residing at 1 Alder Street was booked for Robbery 3rd degree.

Joseph Ubiles, 17 year old male Hispanic who reports residing at 1 Alder Street was booked for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree.

Both of these suspects will be arraigned in Yonkers Criminal Court on 08-23-10.  NO PHOTOGRAPHS WILL BE RELEASED AT THIS TIME.
