YPD_patch Yonkers, NY, September 28, 2010 –On 09-27-10 at approximately 8:41 p.m., 3rd Precinct officers responded to 100 Buena Vista Avenue on a report of a stolen vehicle.  A male resident related that his 2008 Acura “MDX” was taken between the hours of 11:30 p.m. on 09-26-10 and 10:30 a.m. on 09-27-10.  Officers took a report from the complainant and an alarm was activated over the NYSPIN (New York State Police Information Network) system.  

On 09-27-10 at approximately 10:00 p.m., 4th Precinct Police Officers Christopher Detz and Kirk Maher were on patrol in the JFK Marina at Warburton Avenue when the observed the earlier reported stolen Acura, which was occupied.  The officers confirmed that the vehicle was reported stolen through Headquarters and the officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop of the vehicle by activating their patrol car’s overhead lights and siren.  The suspect vehicle fled south on Warburton Avenue at a high rate of speed, committing several traffic violations.  While the vehicle was still in motion, four suspects jumped out of the vehicle, which eventually struck a shared garage between 423 and 429 Warburton Avenue causing minor damage to the vehicle and the garage.  The officers observed the driver (later identified as Jason Strange) flee behind 423 Warburton Avenue.  One other male and two females also exited the vehicle.  Additional units canvassed the area and suspect Strange was located in the parking lot of 28 Wells Avenue and taken into custody.  The second male passenger was not located and the two female occupants were questioned and subsequently released.  No injuries were reported during this incident.  

Jason E. Strange, an 18 year old black male who reports residing at 350 Franklin Avenue in Mount Vernon, was booked for Criminal Possession of Stolen Property 4th degree and Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree.  He was also issued multiple summonses for moving violations.       

On 09-26-10 at approximately 4:50 a.m., numerous 3rd Precinct units responded to 620 South Broadway (Clique Lounge) on a report of a large group engaged in a fight.  Additional information was received that a male was struck with a bat and was down at the location.  Responding officers observed 60-70 people on South Broadway between Caryl Avenue and Fanshaw Avenue, with several physical altercations taking place simultaneously.  

Some of the crowd ignored commands to leave the area and debris, including rocks, were thrown at responding officers, police vehicles, and people on the street. Officers located a 26 year old male New York City resident lying on the sidewalk with a fractured left arm and facial injuries.  While rendering aid to this victim, a male (later identified as Luis Gonzalez) interfered with the officers and he was subsequently placed under arrest for acting in a riotous and tumultuous manner.  Officers were advised that a second assault victim, a 21 year old male Yonkers resident, had walked into a local hospital with a stab wound to the abdomen. He was treated for his injuries and was last reported in stable condition.  At the scene of the dispute near the corner of South Broadway and Fanshaw Avenue, officers encountered a male (later identified as Pedro Martinez) who threw a rock at them, narrowly missing an officer.  

This male was subsequently taken into custody after violently resisting several officers attempts to place him into handcuffs.  Six Yonkers Police Officers were injured during this incident with various injuries, one officer was placed off-duty.  

N.Y.P.D. 50th Precinct Police Officers also responded to this scene, as the location borders the Bronx.  Investigation at this time indicates that there was a large fight outside of the bar that escalated into the street.  This is an ongoing investigation and anyone with information can contact the Detective Division at 914-377-7724. 

Luis Gonzalez, a 21 year old Hispanic male who reports residing at 210 West 230th Street in the Bronx, was booked for Inciting to Riot, Obstructing Governmental Administration, and Disorderly Conduct.
Pedro Martinez, a 32 year old male who reports residing at 2015 University Avenue in the Bronx, was booked for Assault 2nd degree, Obstructing Governmental Administration, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Possession of a Weapon 4th degree, Criminal Mischief 4th degree, and Reckless Endangerment 2nd degree.  

NO PHOTOGRAPHS OF THE SUSPECTS WILL BE RELEASED AT THIS TIME.
