Yonkers, NY, September 9, 2010 — On 09-07-10 at approximately 12:39 a.m., 3rd Precinct units responded to 124 Herriot Street on a report of a past robbery. A 45 year old male area resident related that he entered his building and he was followed upstairs by a black male suspect. The suspect followed the victim to the victim’s apartment door, at which time the suspect produced a black handgun. According to the victim, the suspect then pressed the handgun to the victim’s neck and he demanded that the victim open the door. The victim complied and when the door was opened, the suspect removed approximately $14.00 from the victim’s pockets. The suspect also took a computer laptop (valued at approximately $300.00) from the apartment and he subsequently fled downstairs. The victim stated that he followed the suspect, who was riding a small BMX type bicycle eastbound to Herriot Street and then south on Riverdale Avenue. The victim subsequently called the police. The suspect was further described as approximately 20 years old, 5’7” tall, 160 pounds, and wearing a gray t-shirt. Anyone with information can contact the Detective Division at 914-377-7724.
On September 9, 2010 at 1:09 a.m. Yonkers Police responded to 12 Bright Place on a report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival, police observed that a 2001 white Ford Explorer had been driven through the front gate of 12 Bright Place. The driver - later identified as Jose Limon-Lopez, d.o.b. 2/11/82, of 55 Ferris Avenue White Plains, told police that while traveling southbound on School Street, he lost control of his vehicle and crashed through the gate of 12 Bright Place (DiMaio Millwork Corp). Police determined that Mr. Lopez was intoxicated and placed him under arrest.
Jose Limon-Lopez was charged with violating section 1192-2 (Driving While Intoxicated) and 1192-3 (Driving with More Than .08 BAC) of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.
On September 8, 2010 at 11:16 a.m. Yonkers Police responded to 113 Morris Street on a report of a burglary in progress. Upon arrival, police spoke to the homeowner who related that she interrupted a burglar as he tried to enter her apartment via a kitchen window. A description of the suspect was immediately broadcasted and a short time later, K-9 Police Officer Roy Pilot observed a male fitting the description on Hamilton Ave and Post Street. The suspect was detained and positively identified.
The suspect - later identified as Samuel Nathaniel White, d.o.b. 7/3/88 of 86 Hamilton Avenue was placed under arrest and charged with Attempted Burglary 2nd degree.
