  1. maybe thats where the mayor “found” the 25million…. if so I plan a few late night construction site inspections myself lol

  2. I don’t know what’s going on in Larkin Plaza, but on many occasions at 3:00 – 4:00 am, I have seen men in white shirts scouring around with flashlights. They walk throughout, shining into the pit, around the machinery etc. they sometimes stop and sit and seem to be just hanging out. I live above the construction and can see down into it.

  3. So they intend to borrow to pay for pension contributions thus freeing up operating expenses that would have otherwise gone to pay for those obligations? So essentially that is like me taking out a loan to pay my con ed bill so i can use that money to buy groceries. I wonder how long I would be able to do that before the whole thing blew up in my face.

  4. Teachers Retirement system I beleive. The idea is that the Yonkers Board of Ed will issue bonds (thats a first) to offset the costs of the school boards pension contributions for teachers salaries. Of course, the City has to pay back the bonds, whcih will likley the cost Yonkers about $2Million (exta) per year towards its debt service… So, all they did was find another way to borrow $20 Million that the tax payer will ahve to repay…Brilliant…
