YONKERS, NY — June 4, 2012 — Yonkers Mayor and Industrial Development Agency (YIDA) Chairman Mike Spano today announced the appointment of Jesus Antonio Lopez as the YIDA’s new Chief Fiscal Officer. Lopez will join recently-appointed YIDA President and CEO Melvina Carter as part of the agency’s executive management team.
Lopez, a Yonkers resident, is a career banking professional who also holds a masters’ degree in management from Polytechnic Institute of New York University.
“Mr. Lopez is an experienced financial professional who is perfectly suited to help the YIDA encourage economic development and housing opportunities in Yonkers,” said Mayor Spano, adding, “As the economy recovers we want Yonkers to lead the way in attracting investment and jobs to the City.”
Lopez most recently worked as a senior relationship manager for Citibank, and before that was a vice-president for JP Morgan Chase Bank. He has a total of 18 years of experience in the banking industry.
“We welcome Mr. Lopez to our new management team,” said President/CEO Melvina Carter, adding, “We have an aggressive program to promote business in Yonkers and demonstrate to investors how we can provide assistance through various incentives. Lopez’s banking experience will be a major plus as we move ahead.”
Lopez said he was excited to be joining the City’s economic development efforts. “Yonkers is a great City in which to live, and I look forward to joining Mayor Spano’s team in bringing new investment and opportunities here. I want to thank the Mayor for his confidence in me.”
Lopez began his responsibilities today, June 4.
