On-line Registration for Summer Camp Begins Wednesday, April 1st at 7PM for Residents and Wednesday, April 8 at 7PM for Non-Residents
YONKERS, NY – April 1, 2015 – Mayor Mike Spano and the Yonkers Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation today announced that registration for Camp Rays will begin tonight, April 1 at 7PM for residents and open Wednesday, April 8 at 7PM for non-residents. Camp Rays summer day camp for children has been one of the Parks Department’s most popular seasonal programs for more than 15 years.
“Every child remembers their experience at summer camp and that’s why we’re proud to offer a program like Camp Rays for our young people to take part in and for their parents to take advantage of.” said Mayor Mike Spano.
Camp Rays begins June 29 and continues through August 7. Six one-week sessions will be offered at four sites throughout the City and open to children ages 5 through 14. Campers will participate in a variety of activities including basketball, softball, soccer, arts & crafts, music, dance and water activities.
Additionally, several day trips are being offered as part of the camp this year, including trips to a New York Mets game, the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York City and other amusement parks.
Registration is available on-line at www.yonkersny.gov in person at the Department of Parks, Recreation & Conservation (285 Nepperhan Ave) from 9:00am to 4:00pm. Registration will continue until all spaces are filled.
