Barry McGoey, Esq., President of the I.A.F.F. Local 628.

YFD PatchYONKERS, NY – July 18, 2015 – I.A.F.F. – Local 628’s Executive Board of Directors have announced that President Barry McGoey has been chosen the 2015 Union Man of the Year by the New York State Professional Firefighters Association. McGoey was unaware that he had been nominated and was described to be embarrassed by the nomination and not happy for the recognition because he thinks of himself as just one of the guys and not deserving of any recognition. Seems Local 628’s Board of Directors disagree as do so many others in Yonkers and beyond.

He is being honored Tuesday evening, July 21st, in Ithaca, New York, at the New York State Professional Fire Fighters Association’s 77th Annual Convention (refer: http://www.nyspffa.org/main/convention/).

Congratulations to the Yonkers Fire Department and to President Barry McGoey and his family for the honor he brings to the City of Yonkers, the Yonkers Fire Department, and to New York State professional Fire Fighters.

  1. Nice work Barry! Good to see workers getting a fairer deal than what the big money media And corporate marauders who have sold out the USA for more money than they’ll ever need would have real Americans like yourselves get. If you work in this country you get penalized, if you do nothing you get everything. Union Strong!

  2. Congratulations Barry, you truly worked for the welfare of your association. Now we await for the worst union leader in the state, Mr. Keith (sellout) Olson the Yonkers PBA loser. We know your sister did not get a job the same week you settled. Don’t forget how the rat won’t call you back.
