Khader Campaign Submits a Cease and Desist Against McLaughlin for the Use of False and Inflammatory Language
YONKERS, NY — October 24, 2017 — Mike Khader, Democratic nominee for Yonkers City Council President, today submitted a cease and desist against his opponent, Liam McLaughlin, for his false and misleading claims about the Westchester County Fair Campaign Practices Committee’s ruling over the weekend.
“Liam McLaughlin is purposefully lying to voters about the committee’s ruling and his claim that I was found ‘guilty,’ is completely false. This mischaracterization of the ruling is being done deliberately to mislead voters. My campaign submitted this cease and desist to hold Liam accountable and to stop him from continuing to spread these lies,” said Khader.
The cease and desist states, “All literature, websites, and advertising materials containing such mischaracterizations must be removed or withdrawn in no more than two (2) business days. Further, an apology must be issued with all such statements being publicly renounced.”
