YONKERS, NY — November 15, 2017 — While a Democrat successor to New York State Senator George Latimer, the Westchester County Executive-elect, is far from decided. Even so, the dramatic posturing and jockeying for position is in play. Dan Schorr, a Harvard Law School graduate with an enviable pedigree through marriage, may conceivably resuscitate his political prospects. It seems the Westchester County Republican Committee has coalesced their prowess, such as it is, behind Dan Schorr. Official notice has not been made.
Dan Schorr, Esq., may be remembered for standing for the Office of Westchester County District Attorney in 2009 when he focused his effort to eclipse Janet DiFiore for Westchester County District Attorney. His effort was eclipsed. He would eventually become Yonkers Inspector General at the behest of former Mayor Phil Amicone. He presided over the Office of Inspector General in a non-transparent fashion. His political engagement meandered for many years. He had a stint as a hyperlocal political commentator. Dan Schorr is a Managing Director in Kroll’s Investigations and Disputes practice, based in the New York office.
Democrats have been quick to throw their hats into the political maelstrom. There are many on the mix at present: Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano, NYS Assemblymember Shelley Mayor, former Yonkers City Council President Chuck Lesnick, New Rochelle Mayor Noam Bramson, among a hodgepodge of those still in contemplation of their prospects.
We will flesh out the back-room “dealers and wheelers” by next week, if not sooner. one thing can be stated presently, that is, it is all about them and has nothing to do with serving the Public Interest.
