WASHINGTON DC — December 22, 2017 — Congressman Eliot L. Engel, a top Member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, today announced the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) has awarded $1,346,087 in grant funding to Greyston Health Services, Inc. in Yonkers.
The funding, awarded through the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) program, will help support New Yorkers living with HIV/AIDS and their families.
“The HOPWA program has been a lifeline for many Americans living with HIV/AIDS,” Engel said. “This funding will help ensure that the housing needs of people living with HIV/AIDS in Yonkers are met. Earlier this year, I called on House Appropriators to boost funding for the HOPWA program for Fiscal Year 2018, and I am pleased that these federal dollars will benefit Yonkers.”
