More Blue Truth – From the CLSA

An excerpt from an email sent out by CLSA President Chris Sapienza yesterday, April 17, 2018 reads as follows:

The Blue Truth

YONKERS, NY —  “Despite what has been reported in the news and social media, we have neither offered nor been asked by the mayor or city council to give concessions to help with the shortfall. When the other union presidents and I met with the mayor, we respectfully asked that the narrative not be that our members or contracts are the cause for the city’s shortfall. Did our salaries increase? Yes. Did our medical coverage increase? Yes. Many factors have been brought to bear and neither we nor the city should be looking to assign blame.

“Rather, we need to work together and find a viable solution.

“Many of our members are taking the position that we should not give any concessions under any circumstances. We are not prepared to give concessions at this time, but I would avoid absolutes. It’s easy to say “never” if you are secure in your position and not on the chopping block. If it means saving one or more of our members, we must consider it. I will not be the one making that decision. If the time comes, we will put it to a vote.”

The takeaway is crystal…  the CLSA membership is being subtly prepared to shoulder the fiscal debacle perpetrated under Mayor Mike Spano inept fiscal governance aided and abetted by those that spoke in his name.

CLSA President Sapienza is evidently the first Benedict Arnold to reveal his self serving behavior. What was Sapienza promised? It won’t be too long before all Yonkersites learn the meaning of “quid pro quo”.

  1. Sapienza, look at the roster of supervisors and the old relics, like Cavorti , and force them out. I mean this guy is holding onto the job like a pope. He’s pushing 40 years. Weed out 30 plus year guys like this no one gets demoted.

  2. Rise up and say no to the CLSA board. Be the professional bosses that you are, not the people who followed a dumb ass like Mike Spano. Look where it got the fat union rat Keith Olson. He sold his soul and he is in the same spot as you Sap.

    1. LMAO! Sap thinks he’s getting SIU or DD if he delivers. The whole board is a bunch of conspirators. They all got gigs or lining one up. A few of them are even Spano plants that feed Spano all inside information. Wake up bosses ! Recall the president and board
