YONKERS, NY — September 8, 2018 — On Saturday, September 8, 2018, at approximately 12:07 AM, members of the Yonkers Police Department responded to the Cross County Multiplex Cinemas at 2 South Drive on a report of a fight and possible assault. Upon arrival the fight had broken up and officers located one victim, a 40-year-old security guard employee of the theater, with a non-life-threatening stab wound to his leg; Empress EMS responded and conveyed the victim to a local area hospital. Officers cordoned off the area and a criminal investigation was initiated.
Major Case Squad Detectives and Crime Scene Unit responded to the scene and are actively interviewing subjects and witnesses, reviewing surveillance video, and processing forensic evidence. An apparent second victim of the fight was located at a local area hospital, also with a non-life-threatening stab wound to his leg; he is a 17-year-old resident of Yonkers. Preliminary investigation has yielded no arrests at this time and the investigation is on-going.
