Crossover Yoga Project Founder Elisha Simpson speaks to the efficacy and the innovation that lies in its unique combination of yoga, mindfulness, and art therapy:

      1. Gender-sensitive yoga is one of the most effective and highly recommended treatments to help build resilience in teen girls, while trauma-informed yoga is one of the highest rated evidence-based practices for managing trauma, anxiety, and other problems.
      2. Mindfulness meditation is also one of the most researched interventions for a range of mental health problems and has been proven to have lasting effects with only small amounts of practice time.
      3. International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies says creative art therapies “have a tradition of use with children and teens … as a way to access non-verbal material or content that is unavailable to words. Hence, [creative art therapies] are especially well suited to work with children who have experienced trauma.”
