  1. I will be voting against these terms limits changes.
I will be voting from the same address in Yonkers that I used to get on my cushy city job. Grand Ma Ma’s.
I want to thank my union for allowing this to go on.
I hope we can keep Yonkers for guys like me.
Great Place to Work. But Seriously , Not a Place to Live.
Ditch this mayor and get another corrupt one back in.
I loved Amicone, guy is the greatest.

  2. Barry this. Mike that. Barry… Barry…. Mike. Mike. Everyone knows the union leader hates the Mayor… The real reality is Mayor Spano did very well in his eight years despite getting beat up by excessive union contracts that caused a great increase in personnel costs to the city, not to mention massive retro. Unions held the guy hostage and sent people out to say how much they need police and fire and so on and so forth. Then the same unions beat him up. Another reality, tons of development, but Barry’s minions talk about tax breaks. If they had an IQ higher than a grapefruit, they would understand that those same tax breaks attracted them. In some years, those developments will be responsible for the full tax liability to support the police, fire, DPW, and other civil service that keep this city going. Give the guy credit where it is due. I’ll deal with him another four years. At least we know what we got. Hard to do a perfect job in a difficult city. Big city with a lot of moving parts.

P.S. – definitely not a knock on our police and fire. I can tell you they responded exceptionally well and quickly when my family needed them.

Everyone needs to stop the theatrics and do what is good for the whole city and I think that is the current Mayor.

  3. This Spano Troll is in favor of keeping Mayor mike.

Also with regard to chuck lesnick….as a lawyer he will be asked soon for his time sheets. Does he do anything in this low show job?

    What a hypocrite

      1. What is being done now to change term limits by the City Council, without voter consent, is disingenuous and self serving, no doubt about it! Mayor Mikey boy is an outright liar and so are Sabatino and Breen. Watch the interviews, watch the video tape!

This is just another backroom deal at City Hall to benefit the empowered at the expense of the taxpayer!

Why should I fund pension and lifetime healthcare for part time Council positions? This is just more abuse!

Yonkers has and will continue to have a reputation for being corrupt. Nothing will change with the pay to play politicians. Yonkers use to be known as the city of gracious living. Now, it has truly lived up to being the City of hills where nothing is on the level…

    1. I live in Rubbo’s district and he should vote NO! If he votes Yes, he’s lost my vote at next election, count on that! First strike was taxes, second strike family jobs and third strike he’s out!!!

  4. Spano needs a paycheck for the foreseeable future because no one outside of Yonkers will give him the time of day (and rightfully so). His last day in office will be followed by his first day of unemployment, so he wants to extend term limits. It’s a power grab by local politician with no where else to go. This is basic stuff, folks.

  5. Spano will drain Yonkers of the SWAMP !
    Unions are the SWAMP !
    GOD BLESS MIKE SPANO !
    GOD BLESS YONKERS !
Unions are pay to play corruption mills.
All employees of yonkers are suspect !
Either they are in on it or they remain silent.
    Baa aah Baaaaaaah Bahaaaaah Sheep

  6. The Spano trolls want to detract from the topic which is not Barry or Chuck or anything other than a power grab by Mike Spano. Try to deflect all you want but the facts are clear that the people want term limits and have spoken twice on that topic. If Mike Spano is so sure of his record of accomplishments then he should be willing to let the people decide whether they want to extend term limits. Same goes for Mssrs. Breene and Sabatino.

  7. I oppose the extension of term limits by anything other than a referendum. However, I hope that this will lead to primary challenges against Williams, Sabatino, and Breen next year, and maybe will help us unearth somebody with a pulse to run against the Mayor, Republican or Democrat.

As this vote shows, politics in Yonkers aren’t about parties – they are about insiders and outsiders, and I really hope voters are watching this closely and will vote them out.

Oh, wait. The Spanos run both parties and will scuttle anybody running for office who won’t tow their line.

  8. Lol, some of these comments are pretty funny. Sad actually. It seems like you can’t disagree with chuck or Barry without them trying to smear you. It’s unfortunate. Sorry guys, most of the city wants to extend term limits. The bully tactics you use are old.

In addition, it would be nice if people started using a real name instead of hiding and throwing rocks.

    Extend Term Limits

    1. Most of the city wants to extend term limits??! Really, so you’ve polled the city? Pray tell, please share.

To rescind or retain term limits, that’s the question. The voters, as a whole, must decide!

Whether you like the Mayor or not, is not the issue. It’s a far bigger matter. This legislation is not just to extend terms for the Mayor, but for all 7 Council seats. And will apply not only for the incumbents, but for all future members.

It is morally corrupt for the City Council to support such legislation when they personally benefit from extending term limits beyond 8 years. After 10 years, they will all be entitled to a taxpayer funded pension and lifetime healthcare, and for part time jobs! It’s our money and our vote should not be hijacked by the City Council.

    2. Looks to me by reading these posts that the smears and attacks are going out against Barry McGoey because he had a legal opinion that disputes all the fiction that the City is spinning. At least someone is providing facts!

The voters (not the Mayors fan club or City Hall insiders) should decide whether or not to extend term limits.
      We pay the taxes!!!

  9. They’ve been listening to Nick and Mike as he buys votes from Rubbo with a job for his brother and Sabatino with a job for his husband and a back up job for himself and Breen who gets his kids taken care of and all the empty promises to Khader and Pineda and all the orders and directions to Williams and promises of riches to Merante.

Do you really think they haven’t been listening? And taping? And getting ready to drain this swamp called Yonkers?

It will be silver bracelets for all expect the few who are working with the feds for some time now.

  10. The political end is coming sooner than expected for council members that support extending term limits grow some balls and do the right thing that voters elected you to do.

  11. This has been the job of a lifetime for the most unqualified and uneducated Mayor Yonkers has ever had. Mike Spano and his entire family have been milking the chafed udders of the taxpayers super dry. Their fear is that the next Mayor will bring to light the deepest corruption Yonkers has ever had, and hand over the needed documents on a silver platter to the Feds. Although this is not a job for a lifetime, the Spano family and all their offspring seem to believe so, because they all are extremely unemployable. Their only source of employment is City Hall. No secret that all the strings are pulled by Nicholas Spano. Nick is the main player on all the ambitious development projects, that will bring the city to the brink of bankruptcy. He benefits tremendously and shares the wealth with his brood of vipers. The real Mayor Nicholas Spano demands term limits extended to coverup all the corruption that the authorities have been secretly investigating. Yes, they are once again the subject of a lengthy criminal corruption and ebezzlement case that ultimately will result in jail time. Councilpersons should be ashamed of themselves for being co-conspirators in the Spano corruption and ultimately Yonkers financial ruin.

  12. Glad McGOOey wasted money on his “legal study”. Hey Barry boy aren’t you a lawyer?? Why would you have to pay someone to research the law?? Yeah you’re what this City needs. NOT. Another can of whoop ass opened on the foiafightas by SPANO.

    1. Hey is Barry a lawyer you half brained moron go check the facts, Barry and 628 have whipped Spano at every turn. Why do you think Mike tries to screw with the firefighters, he is bitter that they have beat him to the pulp. Remember Barry and 628 will be around longer then Mike ( Pillsbury Dough Boy Spano)

      1. You have it backwards and you know it. Extending term limits and 4 more years of Spano are just going to be icing on the cake. It’s time for you to take your 200k salary and obscene benefits and head back to lagrange.

      2. Amazing he’s a laywer CPA yet he hires a laywer to read documents and can honestly saying that when he spent 1.4 million in taxpayers money he didn’t feel he was doing anything wrong to me CPA stands for Certified Public Asshole

  13. Breen,Sabatino and any other council person will write their own eulogy if they support this nonsense the citizens deserve better than this…..

    1. People of Yonkers had enough of the Mike Spano. The Waterfront was started Lon ago under Spencer. Mayor Mike why don’t you go back to painting lines and ask your brother Johnny for a job in DPW.
New Maypr coming. Your ad in the Tribune is not based on ANY credible evidence.

  14. Guess little Barry isn’t gonna get his way. Just another Whitney foiafighta hahahhahahahaahaha.

4 MORE YEARS OF SPANO THEN ABOLISH TERM LIMITS IN THEIR ENTIRETEY.

    1. Are you crazy??? Abolish term limits and give self serving career politicians free reign! No way!

Whoever you are it is obvious that you are a Spano troll. The people are not stupid. The Mayor and CC work for us! And if they get a majority vote and the Mayor approves this legislation it will be the end of their useless political careers. 8 years is more than enough. Nothing that has been done is that complex that it can’t be carried on by others. In fact, we need new leadership to do things differently and end the corruption, fix the BOE, stop the Friends and Family Network of jobs most of whom are completely unqualified, among a whole host of other things.

  15. Is this a joke? They are going to have a one hour “town hall” meeting then vote immediately after it????

Glad they’re leaving time for adequate public comment and consideration by the council members.

  16. So these bastards are going to vote to increase term limits, regardless of what the public wants. So just remember them when they do run for office again. The residents will still have the final say. Vote them out of office when their terms are up. They are useless POS!!!!!!!!
