The Pictorial Evidence and Wisdom of George Bernard Shaw Hezitorial
YONKERS, NY — October 5, 2018 — The first step in correcting past travesties is to divulge it. The second step is to vote for those candidates that espouse your perspective and sensibilities. Before our times, Irish dramatist George Bernard Shaw opined that to know nothing and think you know everything points to a political career. Yonkers Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Edwin Quezada and Board of Education Trustee President Rev. Steve Lopez should have heeded those words of wisdom though they are likely to have both not heard of him nor had the capacity to evolve beyond their respective capacity. In fact, to this day neither Rev. Lopez, nor Dr. Quezada have issued a statement of concern to the students, teaching staff, and ancillary workers for having abrogated their individual and collective responsibility for the safety and health concerns who attended Paideia School 15 of Yonkers. To that end, Shaw defined the demeanor of Quezada and Lopez to a tee when in what must have been a clairvoyant moment said, “Silence is the most perfect expression of scorn.” After all, Yonkers students, parents / guardian, teachers, custodian, kitchen workers, school bus drivers, and the Yonkers community at large all deserve a sincere apology and remedy to the crisis revealed under their watch!
It may be wise of both of them to take to heart George Bernard Shaw’s admonition: “We are made wise not by the recollection of our past, but by the responsibility of our future. Perhaps that time has come and gone.
