RYE BROOK, NY – November 1, 2018 — The New York State Building Officials Conference (NYSBOC) held their Fifth Annual Golf Outing at Westchester Hills Golf Club in White Plains, NY on Tuesday, October 30, 2018. All proceeds benefitted Cerebral Palsy of Westchester (CPW), whose mission to ensure that children and adults with developmental disabilities can receive services and enjoy activities regardless of the level of their ability.

The event opened with The Pledge of Allegiance led by CPW’s Adaptive Boy Scout Troop #535, alongside former Yankees relief pitcher Mariano Rivera, who came out to show his support. 102 golfers took part in the shotgun-start golf tournament, including Rivera, followed by an awards dinner and benefit auction. The outing was a huge success in part of NYSBOC-Westchester Chapter’s hard work as well as local Event Sponsors including: Franzoso Contracting, Garito Contracting, Graybar, Hampshire Management Company, JMC Planning Engineering Landscape Architecture & Surveying, LeChase Construction Services, Monarch Electric, Pavarini North East Construction, Reckson, and Tierpoint.

The New York State Building Officials Conference-Westchester Chapter, under the leadership of Sal Pennelle, has been a tremendous supporter of Cerebral Palsy of Westchester over the past five years. Since 2012, members have donated holiday gifts to each student in CPW’s school program, and in 2014 chose CPW as their charity of choice. Proceeds from the events have been used for capital improvements to CPW’s main campus in Rye Brook, including renovations to the gym and the construction of a new sensory room. Both last year’s and this year’s proceeds are earmarked for the design and construction of Harmony Park, a new sensory garden and playground opening this spring—the only of its kind in Westchester County.
