Farewell Trustee & Public Hearing Continuation
Last week we bid farewell to our senior member of the Village Board, John Codman. We were joined by Assemblywoman Sandy Galef, Legislator Catherine Borgia and Supervisor Dana Levenberg in expressions of appreciation for his seven plus years of service as trustee.
Following a discussion focused largely on the inclusion of water infrastructure improvements in the cite plan for Hidden Cove, the Village Board decided to keep the public hearing open until January 16 when more folks will be available to attend the hearing and offer comment. Click here to view the full exchange which included input from the applicant’s attorney, and the village corporation counsel, engineer and water superintendent.
Open Office Hours with the Mayor will not take place for the next two weeks. Merry Christmas! Happy New Year! I will return to my regular Tuesday practice of being in the Board of Trustees office on the first floor of Village Hall from 10am-12noon on January 8, 2019. No appointment is necessary, and all are welcome to discuss any topic, concern or idea of interest to you.
Have a burning question or idea, at any hour of the day or night?… Email me (email@example.com), the Board of Trustees (firstname.lastname@example.org) or Village Manager Debbie McDonnell (email@example.com).
There is no Village Board meeting this week. When we are back at the dais on January 2 we will be joined by returning trustee Manuel Quezada. That week is our reorganizational meeting which establishes our calendar, our financial infrastructure and many of our contractual relationships for the coming year.
We are looking to appoint a number of new members to village boards/committees. Some of are likely to happen at the first meeting of the year, with more to follow as we continue to consider applicants. Thank you to the dozens of folks who raised your hand and offered to volunteer. In addition to our existing standing committees, we have recently announced our plan to establish a Comprehensive Plan Committee, which will provide further opportunities for folks to serve the community.
We look forward to a productive and significant new year as we focus on economic development and undertake an update of the comprehensive plan. Best wishes to all for a joyous holiday week.
