OSSINING, NY — December 3, 2018 — This afternoon I was pleased to attend a ceremony hosted by County Executive George Latimer and the County Board of Legislators honoring local first responders who are also veterans. Ossining is fortunate to have so many individuals who give so much of themselves in their service to our community and our nation.
Last week we did not have our regular Wednesday meeting, opting instead to begin our Thanksgiving holiday a few hours early.
Have you been spending your Ossining Bucks? This program is designed to encourage shoppers to keep more of their holiday spending right here in the Village. Thank you to the Ossining Chamber of Commerce for administering this program again this year. Click here for a list of participating businesses and to learn more about the program.
Open Office Hours will take place tomorrow from 10am-12noon in the Board of Trustees office on the first floor of Village Hall. No appointment is necessary, and all are welcome to discuss any topic, concern or idea of interest to you.
Have a burning question or idea, at any hour of the day or night?… Email me (firstname.lastname@example.org), the Board of Trustees (email@example.com) or Village Manager Debbie McDonnell (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Early Start for the Week’s Village Board Meeting
This week’s meeting opens at 7pm with a special session to vote on a few resolutions related to personnel and finance. As we adjourn that session, we intend to move directly into our work session. Click here to review the full intended agenda.
Last Monday we held the final round of our budget meetings with department heads. Click here to view meetings. You’ll see they are broken out by department.
This week’s work session includes a discussion of proposed changes to the fee schedule and a continuation of budget discussions, focused largely on capital projects. Click here to review the proposed 2019 budget. The Village Board will vote to adopt the final budget on December 5.
As always, work sessions are an opportunity for the Village Board to have discussions with staff and invited experts regarding potential policy or legislative changes. We invite community members to reach out to us by email (email@example.com) anytime, or to speak during Visitor Recognition at Legislative Sessions typically held on the first and third Wednesdays of the month.
