JERUSALEM, ISRAEL — January 14, 2019 — In a bold move designed to further the Trump doctrine in the Middle East, US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has invited Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to participate in an international conference against Iran in Warsaw on February 13, 2019.
The conference will be attended by many Arab foreign ministers, including countries that do not have relations with Israel, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Morocco, and the United Arab Emirates, among many others whom Pompeo hopes to mobilize into a powerful coalition to counter the Iranian regime.
“We’ll bring together dozens of countries from all around the world,” said Pompeo. “Countries will all come together to focus on Middle East stability and peace and freedom and security here in this region, and that includes an important element of making sure that Iran is not a destabilizing influence.”
Mayor David Rubin, author of the new book, “Trump and the Jews”, is praising Pompeo for “actualizing President Trump’s strategy of strengthening and encouraging relationships between Israel and its neighbors – to counter and confront Iran.” Says Rubin, “President Trump has been carefully crafting a very delicate Saudi-Israel-US alliance against Iran’s nuclear aspirations and its regional and worldwide support for terrorism. Now he is moving it to the next stage – getting other Arab nations and European countries to be on board, while simultaneously ending the long-standing taboo against public cooperation with Israel. This is a wise and brave ground-breaking move, but it’s also risky.” Will he succeed?
