GLSEN Hudson Valley Recognizes Students and Educators Who Are Making Schools Safer For Everyone

WESTCHESTER, ROCKLAND, PUTNAM, DUTCHESS, ULSTER, and ORANGE COUNTIES, NY  — April 9, 2019 — May 16th 2019 will see GLSEN Hudson Valley’s 21st Annual Leadership Awards Event held at PepsiCo World Head Quarters in Purchase, NY, from 6 to 8pm, sponsored by PepsiCo’s EQUAL Group.

The event will be keynoted by Adrian Shanker, Founder & Director of Bradbury- Sullivan LGBT Community Center. Johanna Mustacchi, Shepard Verbas, Kian Tortorello-Allen, Peggy Borgstede and Kathleen Green will be recognized for their contributions to making safer and more inclusive schools and/or for taking great strides in their communities to make the Hudson Valley a better place for LGBTQ youth.

GLSEN is a national education-based organization whose mission is to ensure that every member of every school community is valued and respected regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
