Mount Vernon Corporation Counsel Lawrence Porcari Faces Indictment Proceedings
MOUNT VERNON, NY and WHITE PLAINS, NY — May 27, 2019 — It was late Friday night, May 24, 2019th that LoHud reported that Mount Vernon Mayor Richard Thomas’ lawyers asserted that the Grand Jury looking into the use of The Mount Vernon Board of Water Supply funds on behalf of Mayor Richard Thomas’ personal legal bills had declined to indict the mayor to which Mayor Thomas proclaimed victory. So the public is asked to believe Thomas’ lawyers their takeaway without validation from a second legal source. Which begs the question why not?
It seems incongruous that a Grand Jury empaneled in White Plains, NY, completed their inquiry yet upon completion of their their task and responsibility no official statement is made to their findings.
LoHud, informed its readers that Thomas’ Florida-based lawyers had, in a press release not received by the Yonkers Tribune/ Mount Vernon Tribune quoted Mayor Thomas saying, “I am proud that my faith in our system of justice has been reaffirmed.” The inference is that legal counsel’s assertions are valid and are indicative of the demeanor expressed by the Grand Jury. “The message is that the City and its Mayor and The Mount Vernon Board of Water Supply will always defend itself against false accusations and fight for the City’s honor,” continued Thomas.
Journal News Reporter Jonathan Bandler writes, “Neither Thomas nor his lawyers would offer details about what payments were made.” Bandler notes that according to the press release, the mayor and his lawyers “maintain that Thomas received sound counsel” from Mount Vernon Corporation Counsel Lawrence A. Porcari Jr., Esq., with respect to payments made by The Mount Vernon Board of Water Supply.
Mount Vernon Tribune / Yonkers Tribune sources with knowledge advise that Lawrence A. Porcari, Jr., Esq. will soon face indictment proceedings
