The False Arrest

Bronxville Tribune / Yonkers Tribune / Mount Vernon Tribune / Westchester Tribune Publisher / Editor-at-Large and WHYT Radio’s Westchester On the Level Host Hezi Aris.

MOUNT VERNON, NY — July 16, 2019 — Mount Vernon Commissioner of Public Safety (Police Commissioner) Shawn Harris was this morning arrested by Mount Vernon Police Officers. Upon his arrest this morning it was not known what infraction he may have been charged. As of 4:30pm today, Commissioner Harris had yet to be charged. He has been held in a cell this morning. If he committed an infraction he would logically been arrested for an infraction. Westchester District Attorney Anthony Scarpino has no rational basis for which to charge Shawn Harris. Upon his release, he is certain to call his lawyer and prudently engage in a lawsuit against those that instigated his arrest this morning. Commissioner Harris is licensed to carry a concealed weapon. Mr. Harris is represented by legal counsel and should he be desirous to sue for false arrest and incarceration he is certain to sin in a legal suit. His legal counsel is well-known and respected.

  1. Interesting piece but seems a bit biased in favor of Wallace and the others. Mt. Vernon rejected Wallace in the June primary and I, for one, can’t wait until he can be voted out during the next election for city counsel members. He’s a bull in a china shop, a wanna-be who causes havoc in a city already consumed by chaos. He needs to go away.

    1. Post

The article was written with no inclination or intent to be in favor of Wallace. I respect the voters’ decision in support of Shawyn Patterson-Howard in the June 25, 2019th primary and expect her to gain even more support by her conduct during this crisis as it moves slowly toward the November 5th General Election. In re-reading the article, I disagree with your takeaway. I can unequivocally state that I only report the news. The Gang That Should Straight in Mount Vernon refers to their infighting not to exalt the conduct of Wallace or anyone else. It is also written to show that the lack of transparency of their conduct is detrimental to them and worse, the city. That is the takeaway. Kindly, Hezi

      1. I agree Wallace is a wanna -be. He will never respect any Mayor of Mt. Vernon. His behavior is very very embarrassing to the people of Mt. Vernon. He just won’t let it go. THE PEOPLE have spoken, he came in fouth place in the Primary election.
