Acting Yonkers Police Commissioner John Mueller.

YONKERS, NY — July 24, 2019 — Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano today introduced Deputy Chief John Mueller as the City’s new Acting Police Commissioner. The introduction took place at the The Yonkers City Hall Mayor’s Reception Room. Mueller will serve as acting commissioner pending Yonkers City Council confirmation. Mueller replaces outgoing Commissioner Charles Gardner upon his retirement.

Mayor Mike Spano also appointed Captain, Lieutenants, Seargeants Association (CLSA) President Det. Captain Christopher Sapienza as the department’s newest Deputy Chief.
