CHAPPAQUA, NY and BETHEL, CT — September 22, 2019 — Everyone had a ball at Ability Beyond’s popular Golf Championship and Tennis Tournament held on September 16, 2019 at the Ridgewood Country Club in Danbury. The annual athletic event was an outstanding success thanks to the generosity of supporters and sponsors, attracting over 110 participants and raising over $93,000.

The competition is one of Ability Beyond’s largest fundraisers, with 100 golfers hitting the links this year. An additional thirteen players battled it out on the court for the friendly round robin tennis tournament once again sponsored by Mt. Kisco Truck and Auto Parts.

“We are extremely thankful for everyone who helped us hit our fundraising goal,” said Jim Kennedy, Ability Beyond Board of Director and Chair of Golf Event Committee. “We are also very fortunate to have the support of Ace sponsors Maplewood Senior Living and the Network Support Company, plus many other caring corporate partners.”

After a day of play, attendees enjoyed a silent auction and a live auction featuring many coveted prizes. Golfers had the opportunity to win a car with TWO hole-in-one prizes sponsored by Colonial Automobile Group of Danbury and Ingersoll Auto of Danbury and awards for closest-to-the-pins and longest drive.

All proceeds from the event will be used by the nonprofit to continue providing job training and placement, supported living, and recreational and educational opportunities for over 3,000 individuals with disabilities throughout Connecticut and New York.
