WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — October 11, 2019 — Ossining Mayor Victoria Gearity opens the broadcast day on Friday, October 11, 2019 @ 10am. Discussion centers with respect to a few subjects. Last Friday evening Mayor Gearity visited a Boy Scouts Troupe to discuss local government and in particular, measures for improving energy efficiency and what she gleaned in engaging Ossining’s future leaders. Juxtaposed to her inquiry of them, we inquire as to their inquiry of her.

We ask about the Village Board’s passed resolution related to the Sing Sing Prison Museum (SSPM). We learn some of the concepts recognized in reimagining the criminal justice system, those incarcerated, and their families. And what role state and local office holders have vis-a-vis the NYS Department of Corrections. From 10-10:30am.

Lenore Friedlaender, Assistant to the President of 32BJ SEIU and Vice President of 32BJ in the Hudson Valley, speaks to the long-delayed contract negotiations that have exhausted the 1160 Midland Avenue building service workers’ patience. The protracted negotiations have languished for so long, that the building workers threw down the gauntlet on October 2nd demanding an immediate conclusion to the languishing negotiations that have exacerbated ancillary concerns, specifically the loss of medical coverage.

We question the integrity of engaged negotiation because deadlines were permitted to languish for so long that a loss of healthcare insurance has now encroached not only the workers’ health but also that of their families. We inquire of Ms. Frielaender what more 32BJ SEIU, or any union for that matter, can do? And whether state government should or would be amenable to mediate a speedy resolution? Will the building supervisor be permitted reinstatement to the insurance program? From 10:30-11am

Thereafter Yonkers Tribune Editor-at-Large Hezi Aris engages in news reports with commensurate political analysis. From 11am-12Noon.
