OSSINING, NY— December 2, 2019 — A Season of Gratitude: Kudos to Ossining’s Department of Public Works. While most of us in village government enjoyed a day off on Friday, you were out picking up everyone’s Thanksgiving waste. Thank you also to the storm management teams who did such a great job keeping our roads safe during the snow.
Before our staff left for Thanksgiving, they continued preparing for the 2020 budget vote coming up on Wednesday.
Community Connections: If the Ossining Schools have a delayed opening tomorrow, Open Office Hours with the Mayor are likely to be delayed. If you’re planning to come speak with me during Office Hours, call 914-941-3554 to confirm when I’ll arrive at Village Hall.
Have a burning question or idea, at any hour of the day or night?… Email me (firstname.lastname@example.org), Village Manager Karen D’Attore (email@example.com) or the Board of Trustees (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Budget Vote on Wednesday: This week is a heavy agenda. The star of the show is certainly the 2020 budget. For the fourth year in a row the village board will be voting on a 0% tax rate increase. Click here for a link to this week’s agenda.

Following a special presentation to promote James Kastanis to become our newest Ossining Police Sergeant, there are a number of invitations for community members to offer comments at this week’s legislative session. If you would like to spread the word about an upcoming event, please take up to two minutes during Organizational Announcements. Folks who would like to comment on the resolutions included on this week’s agenda may do so for up to four minutes at the start of the Village Board Resolutions portion of the meeting. The meeting closes with an invitation for community members to comment for up to three minutes during Visitor Recognition about any topic of relevance to the common good of the Village.
Friday Tree Lighting: This Friday join in Ossining’s annual community celebration in Market Square. Music and treats begin at 5:30pm. At 6:35pm Santa & Mrs. Claus ride in on an Ossining Fire Truck to join the festivities.
