  1. breaking news johnny khader and zahy jeries were seen last night together having dinner I guess Dan Romano will be next city judge ……

  2. ***NEWS FLASH ***

Following the standing ovation he got for his joke at the Yonkers Democratic convention, city court judge candidate, Dan Romano, announced that he is going to continue in that vein and inject humor into the court room.

There will be no more sullen faces with Judge Danny at the helm. You may be sent up the river but you’ll be chuckling all the way there. Dan aims to emulate the late, great, Professor Irwin Corey. This enthralls his followers who always cite Professor Corey’s words as reasons to support Dan: “If we don’t change direction soon, we’ll end up where we’re going.”

As one of Dan’s supporters so eloquently said, “Sometimes, I forget what I’m talking about in the middle of a word.” Another supporter said of Dan’s sudden emergence that he doesn’t care that Dan only started showing up at Democratic Party events in January. Look, as followers of Professor Corey, we believe in his ultimate maxim, “I will run for any party with bottle in hand.”

“However,” it can be said with certainty, a vote for Dan will ensure that “Wherever you go, there you are.”

  3. Lots of people fixating in Dan Romano’s tongue-in-cheek comment on the night of the convention where he didn’t commit to dropping out and backing the endorsed candidates if he didn’t get the endorsement.

Leadership always poses this question to galvanize the party faithful. There are DLs who will view this benign statement as a personal transgression against them and the party (bless their hearts). What they fail to realize is they’ve been led so far astray on theatrics and pearl-clutching, they don’t even realize that a sizable portion of the candidates endorsed by the Yonkers Democratic Committee aren’t people who support the mission of the Democratic Party. Two-bit hacks like Dennis Robertson, Mike Spano, Virginia Perez and now David Tubiolo who can see the electoral tide shift over the horizon have all been recipients of the Yonkers Democratic Committee stamp of approval despite outright endorsing and advancing policy positions that are at odds with what the County, State and National Committees stand for in their platforms. It’s why an endorsement from this sham committee doesn’t mean anything and it’s why endorsed candidates have a poor track record of winning in the general election. Hell, half of the committee are geriatrics forebears of yesteryear’s political machine and aren’t even collecting signatures as needed. Everyone knows it’s an insider shell game and the real case is made to the voters. The jig is up.

P.S. for the neophytes among us, the only correct answer to this question is “If I am satisfied that the endorsed candidate is somebody who lives up to the values of our party and would faithfully serve the people of the community they hope to represent, I would have no problem respecting the decision made by the Executive Committee.”

    1. This comment is such a mess that answering all of it would take up my afternoon so I will let someone else respond to the parts I don’t address.

“Two-bit hacks like Dennis Robertson, Mike Spano, Virginia Perez and now David Tubiolo who can see the electoral tide shift over the horizon have all been recipients of the Yonkers Democratic Committee stamp of approval despite outright endorsing and advancing policy positions that are at odds with what the County, State and National Committees stand for in their platforms.”
What does this mean? “see the electoral tide shift over the horizon”
Perez shifted to the right. Tubiolo to the left. You make no sense.
Yes Perez’ is a two-bit hack but Alvarado is double that in the hack department.

“P.S. for the neophytes among us…”
The right answer is to tell the truth.
As I’ve said in another comment, everyone has the right to primary.
His statement wasn’t a joke. It wasn’t comical. It was an insult to the DLs who are volunteers and do not get paid.

  4. Not sure how I feel about a candidate who blatantly posts someone’s personally identifiable information on their Facebook campaign page and Twitter accounts…shows carelessness and lack of respect for the law by making someone’s information available in the open like that…

  5. These comments are appalling
Dan is a spoiler and nothing else
    Who is behind him?
    Johnny Kilo
    Zehy Jereis
    Franky Jereis
Three stooges are going nowhere fast

    How’s Gordon?

  6. Again, my name isn’t Dan and you must be a moron to assume that the only one in favor of Romano IS Romano. You also know damn well that none of the candidates so designated at that so-called ‘convention’ will fail to get enough signatures to get on the ballot. One is a sitting judge who knows how to get on a ballot; one is a hand-picked Spano candidate so enough said there, and the other candidate has enough support to get her through that process. Okay? None of the above will fail to make the ballot. And, again, with respect to Romano’s answer, he did it in a comical way and did not in any way fail to convey the point that would primary if not designated that evening. It is too bad that you are so small and narrow minded that you needed a literal statement to that effect. If you are an example of a Democrat district leader it is no wonder that the party is in trouble.

    1. “Again, my name isn’t Dan.”
Okay but may I call you Dan?

“ and you must be a moron to assume that the only one in favor of Romano IS Romano.”
Nothing I said warrants you calling me a moron. It is a reflection on your upbringing. You must be a Republican – that would explain why you are illogical and find name calling a “reasonable” argument.

“You also know damn well that none of the candidates so designated at that so-called ‘convention’ will fail to get enough signatures to get on the ballot. One is a sitting judge who knows how to get on a ballot; one is a hand-picked Spano candidate so enough said there, and the other candidate has enough support to get her through that process. Okay? None of the above will fail to make the ballot.”
They will get on the ballot because the DLs get the signatures. Those not endorsed by the party have to recruit people to petition for them. That is not easy. Don’t you know how this works?

BUT – if there is a primary then the endorsed candidate is in the primary. You said if you got the endorsement, you wouldn’t primary – does that mean that if you had gotten the endorsement, you would drop out.

“And, again, with respect to Romano’s answer, he did it in a comical way and did not in any way fail to convey the point that would primary if not designated that evening.”
No – he did it in a cowardly way. He wasn’t there with enemies but people he needs. If there is a primary, DLs will remember his “comical” answer that was not funny but an insult.

“If you are an example of a Democrat district leader it is no wonder that the party is in trouble.”
Last I saw, Dems have majority in city council. County Legislature is all Dems save one Conservative. Gov is a Dem. Dem majorities in State Senate & Assembly. and And the Yonkers Mayor is 50% Dem.
So not only are you wrong BUT you are totally coming from another planet. Of course, the question is that if you really think so badly of Dems. Why don’t you run on another party line?
AND YOU STILL CAN’T REPLY IN THE RIGHT PLACE.

      1. I have been unable to reply ‘in the right place’ based upon this site’s comment placement. There were no options for me to comment directly to you. Hence my post ended up at the top of the thread. I supposed that is Romano’s fault, also. Hopefully this response is placed appropriately. Won’t pursue any more logic with you since it falls on deaf ears. I am a Democrat and have been since having registered to vote more than 50 years ago. Again, McGrath is a terrible candidate having been a terrible IG. As far as I am concerned he is the questionable one among the lot. For that reason, I had hoped Romano would stay in the race and did not place all that much weight on his answer vis-a-vis challenging the results of their bulls..t convention.

        1. Funny – why is it that I am always able to reply in the right place?
You are the one with deaf ears.
Where did I say that any of the endorsed candidates is better than Dan?
I have repeatedly said that he has every right to primary. I have collected signatures for many candidates not endorsed at the convention – city and county.
I said his comment was insulting and illogical.
It was NOT comical. He demeaned himself with his statement.

  7. steve Levy should stick to being a middle school gym teacher

its clear politics is not his thing… 2017 marked the end to the Spano administration political machine

    the beatings will continue…

      1. I think 2017 is when everyone realized he might be a threat.

2o18 the threat became a reality & pretend to play nice

2019 no one could be trusted, everyone showed their true
        colors.

2020 The competition & tensions are in the air and all created by the master of divide and conquer.

2021 It’s the god damm play off !!!!
        May the best man/woman win

  8. Yonkers voters recognize that the Democratic Party is corrupt and it’s executive committee all have no show jobs from Spano
    No one wants corrupt judges

  9. That’s all we need is another bleeding liberal Democrat defense attorney pandering to the criminals of Yonkers and the photo in the upper left hand corner is totally in-appropriate because it suggests that the Yonkers Amvets and it’s Commnader Sam Ritti support his run for a Judgeship.

  10. The Spano family and Administration track record of winning elections:
    2017- Khader defeats McLaughlin
2018- Nader Sayegh gets elected to the Assembly(not Spanos first choice)
2019- Tasha Diaz defeats Dennis Robertson
2020- DAN ROMANO becomes City Judge

Mike Spano Steve Levy and Tom Meier can sit behind their desks and try to control the outcomes of elections but guess what? It’s not going to happen,

    1. Nice try Johnny Kilo. Everyone knows only vinny spano was behind the leprechaun.

      Spano was behind sayegh.

And Spano was behind Diaz, nobody with half a brain believes the Spano’s helped Robertson.

But as it turns out, Liam is doing pretty well these days. A nice 7-0 confirmation. How is Gordon doing??

      1. You are such a loser Johnny was not involved in Gordons race if you had any inside knowledge it was Zehy Jereis that ran that race. . Spano got behind Sayegh because no one else was viable and at the same time he got nader out of his hairs constantly looking for a job in his administration,as far as Tasha goes spanos played both sides but made a deal with tasha at Zehy request that she will play ball with them. One thing for sure johnny was behind Andrea when she beat Nick back in 2006…lol

        1. I love when Johnny Kilo tries to say he was behind Andrea- it’s so comical and baseless that even Hezi removes these comments from his sight. The only time Johnny kilo had in the Senate race, was taking a $5,000 bribe not to run an independence candidate.

But I’m glad you were behind Andrea after nicks 30+ years in the Senate in a predominantly democratic district LOL you go Johnny kilo!!!

          1. I love how much attention you give a to guys that you claim ain’t nothing.

Don’t throw rocks If your house ain’t in order.

  11. Thomas Meier Sr refuses to give copies of the tally sheets to the Romano campaign. The only answer to this is Steve Levy and his son Thomas Meier Jr, who tallied the sheets have something to hide from team Romano.

Don’t worry Thomas Meier Sr The Romano family is going to make sure Judy is going to be the next mayor

    1. Actually – you don’t even know how to reply.
Actually – you don’t even know how to read. Not only did he not answer the question, but his answer was not logical. Think about it for a few years. Then maybe you’ll get it.

  12. At the Dem convention, candidates were asked if they would primary if not chosen by the party. Your answer: “Not if I win.”

That is exactly the kind of answer that disqualifies you from being a judge.

    1. This is ‘actually’ again. You responded that my earlier critique of your complaint about Romano’s ‘primary’ query were misunderstood by me, and I am putting that mildly. It is apparently YOU who can’t even understand his subtle tongue-in-cheek response. He answered the question – which was would the loser at that evening’s convention mount a primary. His answer, again, truthful yet amusing, was that he would NOT primary if he were one of the three chosen that evening. You have to have the intelligence to infer from his comment that it meant he would primary if not one of the three. There is no need for a primary if the other two nominees that night don’t challenge. Only the general election.

      1. Hey Dan
You said you wouldn’t primary if you got the endorsement.
So if you were one of the three endorsed candidates, that means you would not be on the ballot if there were a primary.

Volunteers showed you every respect despite the fact that this was your first appearance at a Dem event and you played cutesy.

And you don’t even have the courage to stand up for yourself.

        1. First of all I am not Dan. I am someone who watched the convention on social media. As far as I am concerned, I don’t care which three win as lone as one of them isn’t McGrath. He was a terrible Yonkers Inspector General who doesn’t deserve to sit in judgment over others. Second, while on that topic, the IG position should be an elected post, not appointed by the mayor with confirmation by the city council. How can there be objectivity when you oversee those who have confirmed you? But, back to your assertions about being on the ballot. Getting backed by this convention means nothing. You get on the ballot after you gather sufficient petition signatures which stand up to challenges. That convention was not the be all and end all of the process. Once the petitions start anyone can come out of the woodwork and collect signatures for that judicial seat. THAT is what determines a primary.

          1. Dan
If you get the endorsement and no one else gets enough valid petitions, then there isn’t a primary.
If you win the endorsement and just one other candidate gets valid petitions, then there is a primary. Would you have asked to not be in primary?
You can’t deny that you didn’t want to answer the question truthfully. As a DL, I expect to have an honest answer from you. You have every right to primary. I would not have held it against you if you had said that – Yes I am going to primary.
And I am not alone. I saw the head-shaking and grimaces of many other DLs when you gave that snide answer.
