ELKTON, MD and YONKERS,NY — February 13, 2020 — It is with great sadness to inform that Wallace J. Brown, age 95, passed away Wednesday, February 12, 2020. He was the last civil service Fire Chief of the Yonkers Fire Department. Wallace proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII at Peleliu Island.

  1. You won’t see a man like this again on Yonkers Civil Service.
    The ME, ME, Me crew that takes, takes, takes, and let buildings burn down
    is living off of his generations dedication.
    R.I.P. Sir, thanks for your service to Yonkers and not to Dutchess County
    where The Y.F.D. now resides.
    Shame on City Hall for allowing this to happen.
