WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — May 13, 2020 —  Hezi Aris, Yonkers Tribune Publisher / Editor-at-Large engages in hyperlocal, county, state, national, and international news items of interest / concern with commensurate analysis. Listen from 10-11am.

Bryan Hoadley, Power Breezer’s Chief Revenue Officer, immerses us into technology that has begotten remedy necessary for our times. Prisons and corrections facilities across the country are struggling to get a handle on the COVID-19 crisis and there is growing alarm that not enough is being done to ensure the safety of inmates, Correction Officers, and among other staff. In fact, a recent study conducted by the Bureau of Prisons show that over 70% of inmates tested have COVID.

It’s nearly impossible to achieve social distancing in prisons and jails, and as a result, many correctional facilities are requiring their staff and inmates wear face masks and take additional measures to provide the necessary safety and protection from COVID. Now, prisons across the country have begun using Power Breezer machines to spray EPA-approved disinfectants throughout their facilities:

  • In the last few days 80 cases of COVID have been identified at the North Carolina Institution for Women in Raleigh. As a result, the North Carjolina Department of Public Safety has begun deploying 265 Power Breezer vaporizing fans to disinfect large portions of their facilities on an ongoing basis. Local story.
  • The Connecticut Department of Corrections on Wednesday announced they too are going to begin spraying disinfectants within its prisons as another tool to combat COVID. Connecticut corrections officials intend to spray each of the state’s facilities. Local Story.
  • Prison systems in Texas and across the country are also following suit.
