Todd Kaminsky is a Democratic member of the New York State Senate, representing District 9.

ROCKVILLE CENTRE, NY — August 15, 2020 — Yesterday, in the wake of the news that the New York City chapter of the Democratic Socialists of America (“DSA”) had released a questionnaire for 2021 City Council candidates requesting an on-the-record pledge to not travel to Israel, Senator Kaminsky offered the following comment:

“I’ve visited Israel multiple times. It was a moving experience that I suggest every New Yorker undertake. Israel is not just a nation for the Jewish people—it is a homeland for refugees and a culture that has been persecuted through history,” said Senator Todd Kaminsky. “To discourage people from visiting Israel for political reasons is a cynical and ignorant attack on a displaced people facing constant threats and challenges.”
