WHITE PLAINS, NY — December 30, 2021 — Damian Williams is the United States Attorney for the Southern District of New York.  Nominated in August 2021 and confirmed by the United States Senate in October 2021, Mr. Williams is the chief federal law enforcement officer for the District.

Prior to his confirmation as United States Attorney, Mr. Williams served as Chief of the Securities and Commodities Fraud Task Force in the Southern District of New York.  As an Assistant United States Attorney, Mr. Williams primarily investigated and prosecuted white collar cases involving corruption in financial markets and politics.  Among other matters, he prosecuted Congressman Chris Collins for insider trading and lying to the FBI and New York State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver for bribery, extortion, and money laundering.

Mr. Williams earned an A.B. in Economics from Harvard University, a M.Phil. in International Relations from the University of Cambridge, and a J.D. from Yale Law School.  He served as a law clerk to Judge Merrick B. Garland of the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit and then to Justice John Paul Stevens of the United States Supreme Court.

He should start doing his job then it’s kind of strange isn’t there like a inherent conflict of interest that comes with this position and it seems like he would be arresting and Prosecuting the very people that he works for like I said conflict of interest with this position the job never gets done
