YONKERS, NY — December 20, 2012 — Yonkers Commissioner of Planning and Development, Jeffrey
Williams, Mayor Mike Spano’s replacement of the former Louis Kirven, took place
in February of 2012. Yonkers Tribune
earlier last week learned that Mr Williams had handed his resignation papers.
The basis for his departure, as gleaned by Yonkers Tribune, is that Yonkers
City Hall was not pleased with his performance. Mr. Williams replacement will
be Ms Wilson Kimball, the present Deputy Commissioner. Her position with be
relegated to that of Acting Commissioner.
Yonkers Tribune extends their best wishes for success in
their respective endeavor with sincerity.
More when Yonkers City Hall decides it is honorable to
present the news as it takes place as opposed to manage the news.

I heard Jeff was trying to make all the developers do what is right but it was interferring with their profits and the loser from Pound Ridge is all about skirting the laws to help with their profits. More family and friend replacements. The more things change in Yonkers the more it stays the same.

I don’t care if she’s only a high school graduate. I have a post-graduate degree and it means nothing, except that the piece of paper helps you get a job. What you learn in school has little bearing on the actual job once you start doing it. The need for a degree is largely just a money-making scam created by the universities.

You people must be mad to think everyhing is OK with this appointment or even her presence in government. Read the report, it is not in the past, it is part of her who she is. You think it will stop?

Who this woman is personally involved with has no bearing on the job she can or will do. Its not our business. It becomes our business when you read the IG’s report. An adult having a consenting relationship with any other adult, even if in business together, isn’t anyone’s business. However, accepting perks, special favors, appointments, etc. is our business. That’s what the report says this woman did. How do you know its in the past? I don’t really care what she does, but I want to know she’s not getting special treatment for doing it. On the taxpayers clock. The whole thing stinks as usual. The IG’s report is not “end of story”….its the beginning story.
Read it. It is the past. Move forward. Look at job she is doing now. She is impressive. End of story.

I agree with your assessment. However, Wilson is using her education in her job which benefits us. As for the other woman, her husband/boyfriend or whatever is irrelevant. She is a hard worker and made it on her own. We should be proud that she is from our city and made good. If these were men would we be discussing their wives or girlfriends? Nope. Double standard. Unacceptable.
I’d rather have a home schooled or non schooled intelligent person than some idiot with a “degree” in law. Watch out for these “educated” people, a lot of them go to college to coast or goof off and end up getting good jobs because of their connections. Ya really can’t say a bricklayer or auto mechanic isn’t intelligent or “educated”, I’d like to see these college kids hold their own in the real world but doubt it!
Well for someone with a HS education she has been there for 8 years and has done more for the BID and downtown Yonkers then prior employees. As for her personal relationship outside and not related to her job…. I don’t believe she is married and who cares what her alleged husband does. At least she is not screwing everyone to get to the top! She is a hard worker, dedicated, honest and actually cares about what happens in downtown Yonkers. Give the girl a break she has been thrown into a situation that she didn’t necessarily sign up for.
if its a yonkers high school diploma i guess it at least meets the residency requirements though only really a 9th grade diploma from any REAL school system including home schooling.HOWEVER, if its a pound ridge diploma its a REAL diploma however does not meet the residency requirements .. soo hopefully it came with knee pads and a state backing …or you could just rent an apartment anywhere in yonkers and live in the land of peter pan /makebelieve where you will be eternally a child and everything is wonderfull …im looking out my window right now for santa clause i know hes out there somewhere..
speaking of giving women chances, the downtown bid is allegedly being run by a high school graduate whose husband is wanted by the yonkers pd for assault now that the director is moving on to a city job. a great opportunity for advancement for women in yonkers!
She’s an attorney, she’s got years of management experience, and actually seems to have been doing a decent job as the deputy. And yes, Jeff is a likeable guy, but nothing was happening. How about we actually give this woman a chance?

Isnt’ she the same woman that Jim Cavenaugh was involved with down in the Battery Park City Authority? Didn’t the Authority’s Inspector General issue a report a couple of years ago that was very critical of Cavanaugh and made reference to him and Kimball having a sexual relationship while she worked under him at the Authority? Is this the same woman?
