YONKERS, NY — Westchester Independence Party Chairman Dr. Giulio Cavallo (pictured left) yesterday made official his party’s endorsement of Carlo Calvi (pictured right) in the mayoral race in Yonkers. “We are pleased to endorse Carlo Calvi for Mayor of Yonkers. Calvi reflects the frustration of the citizens of Yonkers, who are tired of politics as usual. The committee is impressed by his refreshing candor and straight talk. Carlo does not fit the mold of typical politician. We find him invigorating to hear his belief in the need to be prudent in the investment for the future of Yonkers. We need Calvi to bring about real change. It is clear that Yonkers needs a change of direction and that Carlo Calvi is the man to do it.”

I thought it was 10K for the mayoral. Shows what I know. So, Carlo- did you pay the money up front, or did the ‘doctor’ take a “we owe” on that?

IN YONKERS…(astorino was an anomaly because dems
were tired of andy spano and didn’t turn out) but
in yonkers where dem enrollment is 2.25 to 1 you
need a united front…splitting the IND line is
not necessarily letal..on its own its worth maybe
1%…but splitting all three is absolutely the death
nell to republican hopes..mike wins unless of course
richard wins the republican primary…but with the lineup of party regulars against him..barbato, tubiolo
jacono..and murtaugh strong in his northeast yonkers
base…and calvi dividing the anti murtaugh vote further and martinelli only having half his own
district with murtuagh controlling the other half

So Carlo has officially gotten the Independence line, but I haven’t seen a press release from Hugh solidifying Martinelli on the Conservative…is Hugh having second thoughts?
does anyone have any idea of the havoc being created
by these minor parties….the republican party is
hogtied when it comes to selecting its candidates
because of its need to mollify both the independence
party chairman and the state conservative party chair
no matter what the issue de jure is if the republican
party is not free to select its candidates based on
what the republicans view as representative of their
party we don’t have a true two party system..we have
what Israelhas…a system that is dominated by
fringe parties who have one issue or out of the main
stream agenda’s…take the yonkers mayoralty for example: John Murtaugh failed to get the conservative
party line because mike long threatened all candidates
on the gay marriage issue…of course mayor’s have
nothing to say about it but that didn’t stop long
and fox…what will be really ironic is if albany
republicans pass gay marriage…leaving john murtaugh
without conservative support even though gay marriage
will be legal in new york..its pathetic to say the least and it has nothing to do with the issue itself
and everything to do with the minor parties wielding
power far in excess of those who register in those
parties…

I’m pretty sure that Cavallo despises the Spano’s. I don’t think there is a deal sweet enough to make him help Mike in this campaign.
As for Carlo being first cousins to Mike’s wife, is this a fact or more of your BS pandering? You see, Spano and Calvi are very popular names in Yonkers. Do a white pages search for “Calvi” in Yonkers and there are 100+ results. Does this mean Carlo is first cousins to every one of them? It’s a common name, just like Spano which also returns 100+ results. I guess Mike is first cousins to every single name on that list as well, right?
And those are real facts, not nonsense. Personally, I don’t support either, but this website could do without hacks like you trying to dirty people up. Let the race play out fairly and may the best man win.

Cavallo is doing this at the behest of the Mike Spano campain ,to take away votes from the Republican nominee.No one really believes Calvi is going to take on his first cousins husband Mary Calvi Spano.
